What counts as ID

You will need to show ID to vote in Alaska.

Acceptable forms of ID include:

voter ID card
driver's license
state ID card
birth certificate
passport
hunting or fishing license
other current or valid photo ID

You may also present an *original or a copy* of one of the following forms of ID if it includes your name and current address:

current utility bill
bank statement
paycheck
government check
other government issued document

Voters without ID: If you are unable to provide ID, you will be able to vote a questioned ballot.

Alaska lets you pre-register from age 17, so you are on the roll the moment you turn 18.

Who can register, and what you need

To register in Alaska you must:

be a United States citizen
be at least 18 years old or will be within 90 days of completing your registration
be an Alaska resident
have not been convicted of a felony involving moral turpitude, unless your voting rights have been restored
not be registered to vote in another state unless you are willing to cancel your registration in that state
