ActiVote turns 7!

As we celebrate ActiVote’s 7th birthday on January 3, we’re looking back at a year defined by record engagement, meaningful participation and thousands of voters taking democracy into their own hands – one small habit at a time.

In 2025, ActiVote users showed just how powerful informed, consistent civic action can be. From planning their ballots to weighing in on policy and brushing up on civics, our community made democracy a daily practice.

Here’s what we accomplished together this year:

Empowering Voters

44,421 voters used ActiVote to plan their ballot, staying informed about races from school boards to Congress. ActiVote covered 23,621 elections, ensuring voters had timely, personalized election info wherever they lived.

Users selected 104,212 preferred candidates, building clarity and confidence before they cast their votes.

But even with all this engagement, voter participation remains far lower in off-year and local elections. These are the races that shape school budgets, public safety policies, zoning decisions, transportation systems, and the everyday quality of life in our communities, yet they often receive the least attention. Helping voters discover, understand, and participate in these elections is one of the most meaningful roles ActiVote plays.

We wrote about this earlier in “The Power of Your Local Elections” with Feed Good Action, highlighting why local voting has such an outsized impact and how showing up in these smaller contests can create real, tangible change in daily life.

ActiVote aims to close the awareness gap by making every election visible, understandable, and accessible, especially the ones most voters never hear about.

Learning & Understanding

ActiVote users didn’t just stay informed this year, they made their voices heard.

Through daily voting, rating, and sharing their perspectives, users helped shape one of the most continuous, people-powered snapshots of public opinion in the country.

• 486,727 survey responses on issues ranging from government shutdowns to U.S. foreign policy
• 123,386 votes on legislation, showing on Americans feel about the bills moving through Congress
• 59,752 approval ratings

These inputs don’t sit in a vacuum. They power ActiVote’s public-facing work, including our surveys on government shutdowns, U.S. support for Ukraine, and tariff policy, as well as our ongoing approval polls and issue-based snapshots.

Every tap is a chance for voters to express what matters to them. Every vote adds to a clearer picture of where Americans stand. And together, these daily actions ensure that ordinary people, not just pundits or political insiders, help shape the national conversation.

Celebrating Engagement

Users earned 45,171 badges this year**,** recognizing consistent participation and the small daily habits that strengthen civic engagement. These badges aren’t just milestones, they represent thousands of moments when people chose to show up for democracy.

Looking Ahead to 2026

We’re just getting started. In the coming year, we’ll continue expanding election coverage, growing civic-habit tools, and asking better questions so we can understand what Americans really think.

But most importantly, we’ll keep supporting you, the voters who show up, stay curious, and believe democracy is a daily practice.
