Trump’s Net Approval At -6%
ActiVote’s May 1, 2025 presidential approval poll finds that President Trump’s approval rating has dropped further to 45.0%. His disapproval rating stands at 51.1% yielding a net approval rating of -6.1%.
A total of 576 ActiVote users weighed in on Trump’s approval between April 1 and April 30. They rated Trump on a 5-star rating, which is then converted into standard “approval” and “disapproval” percentages.
April’s numbers are still better than Trump’s average over the 48 months of his first presidency (41%), better than Biden’s average approval rating for his full term (41%), and Biden’s final year’s approval rating (40%).
The groups with a net positive approval rating are rural, older voters (50+), men, Republicans, Whites and Latinos, low income voters and those with some college education.
If we look at the left-to-right spectrum, Trump’s approval among his base, the moderate right and right, has slipped to 88% (from 91% last month), while his disapproval from the left and moderate left remains at 93%. The crucial group of centrists shows the most slippage, from a +2% net approval rating last month, to this month’s -12% net approval rating.
