Trump’s Approval Dips
ActiVote’s March 1, 2026 presidential approval poll finds that President Trump’s approval rating is at 42.4%, while his disapproval rating is at 54.3% yielding a net disapproval of 11.9%.
A total of 580 ActiVote users weighed in on Trump’s approval between February 1 and February 28. They rated Trump on a 5-star rating, which is then converted into standard “approval” and “disapproval” percentages.
February’s numbers are between the average approval for Trump in the 2nd half of 2025 (44.1%) and the average approval during Trump’s first presidency (41.0%).
The groups with a net positive approval rating are older (65+), men, Republicans and college-educated voters (this last category seems an anomaly to us, and is likely an artifact related to the fact that our voter file only list the education of about 50% of voters, making it the least reliable category in our crosstab).
If we look at the left-to-right spectrum, Trump’s disapproval on the left and moderate left continue to be nearly unanimous (96%). The support on the right and moderate right is a bit softer than in 2025 (now at 85%, then above 90%). He is also significantly underwater by 24% with centrists.
